"What IS yoga" is a question I find myself asking daily. I learned a simple concentration practice in 2005 that lead to a daily meditation practice and studying of various spiritual texts. I began a improvisational dance practice around the same time and until about two years ago danced five days a week. I love movement, I love meditation and found a synchronicity of the two as I began practicing yoga regularly six years ago. My Asana teachers have been Pamela Maldenado in Northern California, Shiva Rea in Los Angeles and Elan Adams in Denham Springs, Louisiana. I received my 200-hr. teacher certification in Vinyasa Flow a year and a half ago in Louisiana and hope to share the vividness, passion and rejuvenation that I have discovered on the mat. My teaching style incorporates my roots in Ashtanga yoga, a new-found interest in Anusara yoga, and the fluidity and grace learned from years of dancing. I strive to meet students wherever they are at, with presence, commitment and love, and ultimately hope to serve as a guide to the teacher within.

Olivia Heath

Olivia has loved yoga from the first time she stepped onto a mat at a Chicago Park District class in 2006. The majority of her practice has involved traditional hatha, vinyasa, and restorative styles. She has also practiced beginner Ashtanga and Forrest as well as Bikram and other heated styles of yoga. Olivia strives to achieve sthira (steadiness) and sukha (comfort) in her practice; alignment and modifications are top priorities in each pose. Classes she teaches are a creative and deliberate fusion of asana, pranayama, and mindfulness with some music and smiling mixed in too. The word Yoga means “to unite”, and Olivia loves connecting with others and sharing the experience of yoga! Off the mat, Olivia is an academic advisor at OSU and a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA essential oils. She enjoys cooking, coloring, volunteering, knitting, and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Community Yoga is Yoga for everyone! A yoga practice of posture, breathing, and relaxation that improves overall health and well being. Rotating teachers, often from the Live Well Studio teacher training program. $7, no one turned away for lack of funds.
