Irene Schoppy

Irene Schoppy is a certified 500 hour Kripalu Yoga teacher. “My yoga classes include meditation and pranayama (breath awareness and control) in addition to yoga poses. I bring my love of nature and yoga philosophy into class with poems and readings.” Irene also welcomes private clients! Whether you are new to yoga and looking for one-on-one guidance before starting group classes, an athlete looking for a practice to balance your activities, or a student looking for individual instruction in asana, pranayama, or mindfulness meditation, she will work with you to target your needs. Irene studies meditation in the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition and attends a yearly silent retreat. Off the mat, Irene enjoys backpacking with her husband, gardening, cooking, and riding her bike around Corvallis.

Amy Singh

As a teacher, Amy is committed to an ongoing refinement of her teaching style and skills in order to meet the needs of her students. By providing a balance of effort and ease, students have a chance to discover and reflect on the potent parts of their practice. This balance gives Amy’s classes a focus on strength and stability with a nurturing undercurrent. Yoga has been tool for Amy as her body and soul have changed and shifted with the ebbs and flows of life’s tide. Yoga acts as the compass that gently guides her into new territory. During a class with Amy you can anticipate the opportunity to play and explore yoga asana and movements as well as finding a moment of calm and stillness in the beautiful chaos of life. Amy completed her 200 Hour training at Live Well Studio.

Theresa McLaren

Theresa's first experience of yoga was at a local gym amidst the chaos of clanking weight-lifting equipment. She fell in love with the practice as she moved to a cozy studio in Northern California and found yoga a great compliment to her Zen meditation practice. She loves the ability of yoga to help the body find balance and stability, ease and movement in tandem with breath, using both practices to settle and calm the mind.
 

Theresa completed her 200-hour yoga teacher certification at Live Well Studio in Vinyasa and Hatha yoga and completed an additional Pilates mat training. She teaches flow yoga, Pilates and core classes; her classes blend a little of each concept, with the addition of fun and joy. Classes are accessible to all levels, yet challenging, leaving you enlivened and renewed.

Chair Yoga provides the benefits of yoga to all bodies and is well suited to those with medical or physical limitations. Yoga poses are adapted so that all bodies can benefit from the strengthening, flexibility, balance and grace that yoga develops. Much of the practice is done while seated in a folding chair. You do not need to be able to get yourself to the floor or to stand for extended periods of time to practice. Yoga’s breathing and gentle movement help ease pain, maintain comfort, decrease stress and improve overall health throughout life. All are welcome.
