Lisa Wells

Co-owner, Lisa Wells, PhD, ERYT500, teaches yoga, pilates, core, meditation, trauma-release and 'Making Peace with Your Body' in addition to co-managing the studio . Her 25+ years of yoga practice have taught her patience, humility and happiness. Lisa has been teaching yoga since 2000. She received her PhD in Geology from Stanford University and in her current incarnation as yoga teacher has been called 'a geographer of the body.' Lisa's yoga classes are for your whole being, as she believes there is no separation between body, mind and spirit.  Her philosophy is grounded in the primacy of love.


Lisa Wells instructs the following:
  • Breathe and Relax ~ Level 1
  • "It's like getting a massage, I'm so relaxed afterward." In this restorative yoga class we breath and move through simple poses supported by bolsters, blankets and other props in a soothing environment. Resting deeply, we quiet the mind and enhance our body’s natural capacity to heal. This class is appropriate for all bodies.

  • Core Balance ~ Level All
  • This class will help you connect deeply to your inner strength. We will fire up the core as we flow through strengthening sequences that build heat from within by connecting breath to movement. Class combines elements of yoga, pilates, functional fitness and resistance stretching. Stabilizing and strengthening the entire core will lead to a balanced, healthier, happier you with less pain and fewer injuries! This class offers modification for all levels. Postpartum mammas should consider taking mamalates before beginning this class.

  • Gentle Yoga ~ Level 1
  • Gentle Yoga is yoga practiced at a gentle pace. Gentle Yoga increases flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance while reducing pain, decreasing stress, and improving overall health. This class will teach poses and body awareness with adaptations, modifications and the use of props. Gentle Yoga is appropriate for those new to yoga, those wishing to practice at a slower place, and those with injuries and movement limitations. Students should be able to independently get from the standing to the floor and back. Meditation and savasana bound the practice

  • Live Well Studio 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, 2017-2018
  • Dive deep into the practice of yoga and become a yoga teacher. In the fall you’ll turn your attention inward and firmly establish your personal practice as a yogi. During the winter you will build a strong foundation for sharing your love of yoga with others through teaching. In the Spring, digging deeper into yoga philosophy and world view, you will practice observing and holding space for students, finding your unique voice, discuss the ethics of teaching to a varied population, learn trauma-informed teaching modifications, and offer a full yoga class to your peers. Our Teacher Training includes one weekend long retreat November 10-12.

    The fall Immersion program can be taken as a stand alone. It is for serious seekers, yogis, meditators and curious philosophers alike. Our four months of study will follow a rich, sophisticated yogic curriculum and include progressive meditative practice, philosophical inquiry, postural practice, yogic techniques, community, and dialogue. The program is designed to investigate embodied contemplative and meditative practice sequentially, beginning with foundations and building gradually to the deeper, dialectical, esoteric yogic teachings. The immersion builds in preparation for an off-site, guided weekend silent retreat, and a culminating module called "Embodying Love," which is an exploration of contemplative practice off the mat. Most practices are inspired by or derived from the schools of Tibetan Buddhism and classical Patanjali Yoga, yet the practices will be held in a greater context of modern, Western, integral spirituality. Clear pathways will be carved by our time together, but each practitioner will weave his or her own journey. Participants will become steeped in practice and methodology, understanding not just the “how” but also the “why.” Led by Katelin Gallagher E-RYT500, Buddhist chaplain-in-training.

    The winter Immersion will focus on building your foundation for teaching. Each week we work to cultivate your individual voice and to build confidence through teaching practice. During these six sessions we will focus on an advanced study of asana, yoga anatomy, and biomechanics. Asana study and sequencing will include benefits, potential risks, energetic connection, modifications, observation, assists, and the effective use of props. Led by Katie Zarajczyk, E-RYT 500.

    The spring Immersion will develop the outer expression of your inner work. We will focus on finding the seat of the teacher through discovering your unique voice and learning how to hold the yoga space for your students. Through the study of Sanskrit and Sacred Texts, Trauma Informed Yoga, Ethics of Teaching, and the Business of Yoga, we will round out this 200 Hour training by teaching a full yoga class to your peers. Our third session, led by Jocelyn Fultz, RYT 500, E-RYT 200.

    Non-refundable deposit of $500.
    If you cancel 1 week or less from the date of the event, we will give you a 50% refund if we are able to fill your spot.
    If you cancel 1 week or less from the date of the event and we are not able to fill your spot, we are sad to say we cannot offer you a refund for your payment and will need to charge you the full price.
