Adaptive Yoga

Adaptive Yoga provides the benefits of yoga to all bodies and is well suited to those with medical or physical limitations. Yoga poses are adapted with the use of chairs and other props so that all bodies can benefit from the strengthening, flexibility, balance and grace that yoga develops.  Yoga’s breathing and gentle movement help ease pain, maintain comfort, decrease stress and improve overall health throughout life.  All are welcome.

Beginning Yoga

An introduction to yoga poses, breathing, and movement.  Yoga basics are covered at an easy pace.  This is a great place to begin your yoga journey.

Centering Flow

A vinyasa-style class with an emphasis on becoming more grounded through strengthening the core muscles.  Poses are linked together with deep oceanic breathing.  What makes this class unique is the focus on the center of the body: think hips, lower back, and abdomen.  Creative core movements taken from pilates and yoga are mixed into the flow.  Class is infused with meditative moments for centering the mind and spirit.

Continuing Yoga

An eclectic yoga practice for students with a year or more experience. This class links breath to movement in the classic asanas. It creatively includes sun salutations, inversions, the bandhas and core strengthening with pranayama.

Dynamic Pilates

A 45-minute Pilates class presented in a rhythmic classical style designed to get your heart rate moving while building core strength. All levels welcome.

Feldenkrais

Based on the Feldenkrais Method®, this class is good for those whose abilities fall in the basic to rehabilitative range. Every class is a new series of movements, with explanations provided and designed for an in-depth exploration of mind-body connection and perfect for those who are recovering from illnesses, injuries or surgeries. Class pace is slow and easy, with an emphasis on effortlessness. Appropriate for all levels, those familiar and new to Feldenkrais.

Flow Yoga

Yoga postures practiced in a smooth flowing sequence harmonized with the breath. We work the entire body/mind through sun salutations, standing poses, forward bends, and back bends. This is an all levels class that moves at a moderate pace and includes breathing practices.

Gentle Yoga

Yoga practiced at a gentle pace that is accessible to everyone. This class includes restorative poses, balance poses, and slow gentle work for feet, hips, shoulders and core strength. This class is particularly appropriate for those with movement limitations, recovering from injury, or with chronic illness.

Hatha Yoga

A Hatha yoga for all level students. Class includes yoga poses, pranayama (breath awareness), and meditation with variations given for students at all experience levels. This class will bring your body, mind and spirit into a state of harmony and balance. Ending with relaxation, you will leave feeling renewed and rejuvenated.

Kirtan

Based on ancient chants and played with Western style music, modern Kirtan is music that will quiet your mind when sung or listened to with intention.

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini is the yoga of awareness.  The practice is taught from the lineage of Yogi Bhajan and infused with a modern, meditative approach to yoga. Each class includes a combination of warmups to prepare the body for the Kundalini yoga kriya practice.  Kriya means complete action and is a combination of postures, pranayama (breath work), mantra (chanting sacred sounds), mudras (hand positions), and dristi (eye focus).  We end class with a short meditation and deep rest.  Every kriya has a different purpose to help you achieve your goals.  Class is accessible to all levels.

Partner Yoga

The movement meditation of a yoga is brought into relationship as we explore ways to support, trust and rely upon each other to enhance our yogic journey. Students will bond with other members of their yoga community.  Class will also include giving and receiving simple adjustments with your partner to deepen relaxation, clear your mind, and create a better understanding of your yoga practice.  Students of all levels are welcome. Pilates

Using the pilates method as a base we work toward increasing, health, strength and flexibility in your body’s core: abdomen, pelvic floor and back. The classic pilates mat exercises are supplemented with the use of props. This class promotes body awareness through basic movement principles that require focused direction of energy and breath. Class is cued with options for beginning and intermediate level students.

Pilates Equipment

Using the pilates method as a base we challenge your core strength, stability and grace in this equipment class. Class size is limited to 8 to ensure safety and appropriate attention to your work out. During the 55 minute class you’ll move through a series of pilates exercises on all the equipment: reformer, chair, tower, mat, and circle.

QiGong

Qi Gong is a beautiful fluid practice that of working energy through the body. It is the basis of both Chinese medicine and martial arts.  This class is appropriate for students of all levels and abilities, including those recovering from health challenges.  The class is mainly done standing, but can be done seated in a chair as appropriate.

Restorative Yoga

Experience active relaxation in a series of supported seated and reclining poses in a soothing environment. Rest deeply in passive poses that quiet the mind and enhance the body’s natural capacity to heal. This class will help you take a break, unwind, unplug and enjoy the stillness.

Spirit Dance

Spirit Dance is an ecstatic dance, a conscious freeform dance, a spontaneous improvisational dance, a transformative dance.  Everyone can dance this dance.  Your body knows how even if your mind claims otherwise.  In Spirit Dance you’ll learn how to get your mind out of the way and let your heart and your body lead. This dance is a forgotten birthright. This dance can change your life. Come dance! Co-Led by Lisa Wells and Peter Eschwey.

Teen Yoga (free)

Yoga just for teens. Stretch, move, wiggle, strengthen and then free and relax your body. You’ll find your way into physical places you’ve never been before. You’ll find your body, the best one you’ve ever had. You’ll learn to relax and calm yourself and stay steady through the storms and chaos of life. It’s fun and it’s good for you too. Come join us. Teen Tribal Dance (free)

Tribal Dance is a blend of ethnic dances from North Africa, India, and the Middle East , with an edgy bit of American attitude thrown in! This exciting style promotes colorful and individual costuming, team dynamics and graceful, powerful moves that are simple for anyone to learn. Open to ladies only, ages 12-19, no dance experience necessary! Led by Antigone Cook.

Yoga Bliss!

As we deepen our experience of yoga, we are able to taste Anandamaya Kosha: the essence of bliss that is the core of our being. In this class we practice pranayama (breathing exercises), bandha (energy engagement), asana (posture) and dhyana (meditation) as a tool to deepen our experience of our divine nature. Options are given in the physical postures so that all levels may experience the deepening of the self. Come taste your bliss!
